    Me + Marketplace + T-Mobile G1 = NPR Gold

Every month or so I head to downtown Los Angeles to talk tech, or swim on the rooftop of the Standard Hotel with Kai Ryssdal for a segment on Marketplace. Today, we discussed all things Android, Google, T-Mobile and the new G1 mobile phone. In case you want to hear my ramblings, here's the link. And here's the HYPERLINK! RAAAWWWRRR!!!!!

    Enjoy.

Nice man. Very professional and different, yet still has that humor we all know and love. I wonder how Olivia does with radio interviews. Anyway, I got to toy around with a G1 today, and I gotta say, eventhough I'm leaning towards the HTC Touch Pro or Xperia X1, the G1 is growing on me. The hardware is okay sure, but Android is so great. Decisions decisions!

Anyway, great show today man. You and Munn always make my day. Keep up the good job.

Nicely done! And to be fair, "gold" is most often the result when you're part of the equation.

Let me know when we can download Android directly to our brains... to help me out in my everyday life, y'know?

Listened to the segment this afternoon on-line. Well done, I must say! I wondered what you meant on Twitter about scanning bar codes, now I know!

    Definitely a good segment,

the bit on AOTS made the phone/operating system sounds pretty run of the mill.

Glad to find out more abou it.

Very well done! Nice job, Mr. Pereira! Pretty funny Joe the Plumber insert there! Now are you willing to give up your Jesus phone for the Android phone? You sounded pretty impressed by it.

Great interview, further proof to the masses that Kevin Pereira is THE man to go to for anything tech. I just have one problem...they misspelled your name?

Is it weird that I read your parts of the interview with your voice in my head reading it to me? Did you understand that? Anyways, did you read the comment on the site by Hether Macfarlane? It made my head hurt. Why did I ask you three questions in a comment box? Oops that's four.

What is a horse shoe? What does a horse shoe do? Are there any horse socks? Is anybody listening to me?

Herd your segment on KCRW today while driving on the 10fwy. Well done my friend. If you keep it up I'm not so sure you'll be at AOTS for 30yrs. Someone who can seamlessly interject tech savvy, with political satire, and gamer geek know how can be used in a variety of shows. I see good things ahead for you mate.

I heard the butt-end of the interview on WNCW when I was heading to work yesterday. I listened for a second, made a thoughtful expression, turned to my sister and said, "Hey... is... that Kevin Pereira talking?... Holy crap, I think it is." Then when Kai said it was indeed Kevin Pereira, I regretted missing the majority of the interview and secretly hoped that you would make a post about it... then, bam, here it is. A-thank you.

The hyperlink took me into the Matrix. I hope you're happy. I had to listen to Keanu Reeves for like 8 hours, it's like he has down syndrome.

I will allow your Juno puns, but portals to other dimensions is where I draw the line.

    but I did too hahaha

In response to Nick G...J/K that's me. Yes I'm home early on a Saturday and yes I'm reading Kevin's old post again. So what, you wanna fight about it? Anyways @ katiesan: Anyone who can quote old Adam Sandler or Chris Farley movies is my hero :) And to Curt: I'm glad I wasn't the only one who did that hah!

Kevin, my man! Your getting buff dude...New post soon or else!

...or else I'll look at Donnie Darko memorabilia on ebay and just check back again later.

I got the G1 a couple days before it came out, and I have the iPod Touch(not sure how it compares to the iPhone, but for my comment's sake...) they both have benefits over each other, but I really don't think one is better. My iPod crashes pretty much everytime I try to use Safari, but the G1 isn't as responsive(With the touch screen, when you press the buttons, or otherwise). For example, one day I closed it hit the end call/power/lock button, and it called the last person I had called 5 times while in my pocket. With the iPod, if I hit the lock button, it locks. Also, I dropped my phone a while back, and there is a little mirror around my camera lense... just realized the other day it broke. I have heard many stories of people dropping iPhones, I have dropped my iPod before, and it comes out a little scratched or dented at the most. These are just a few of my comparisons.

So like I said, I don't think one is better than the other. But I do have to say that if they combined the two then I would be all 'OMG I have to have that phone' and scream like a giddy valley school girl, but until then... whatever
