    BP Disaster Coverage

A lot of people have been sharing these videos around the interwebs, and I'm truly grateful for that as this is a subject that's near and dear to my heart for various reasons. I figured I should do the same here on my ghost-town of a blog. Why not place some multimedia here, right between the bleached cow-skull and digital tumbleweeds?

I will likely be doing a write-up or videocast soon to address the questions, concerns and criticisms raised by these videos; as well as hopefully offer a little more insight regarding what I saw down in Louisiana and how it has permanently changed me. Again, I thank you all for your time.

    You Are Powerful: Amnesty International

Somehow I missed this commerical in the shuffle that was the holidays. It's for Amnesty International and it was made to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. I wouldn't dare venture to say anything is this simple, but there is no denying that the spot is very well done:

Protest Prop 8 With Me, Would Ya?

WHO: Me, you and everyone we know. Hopefully.

WHAT: Peaceful protesting of Proposition Eight.

WHEN: Saturday, November 15th at 10:30am. (LA Facebook Event Page)

WHERE: Check "Join the Impact" to find the location nearest you. I'll be at LA City Hall.

WHY: I'll let Keith explain. Go ahead, click the little play triangle below. It won't bite.

It's okay to be straight, and against hate. Oh snap! Someone bumper-sticker that immediately. Feel free to throw in a Darwin-fish and an Obama logo just to "hip it up" a bit.

Dear California, Vote NO on Proposition 8!

Lordy! Someone stop me! Whatever happened to rants about the TSA or video game reviews? What happened to this wonderful little blog? My little, peaceful, politics-free slice of the Internet? I know, I know. But tough.

Here are some great videos from the "I couldn't have said it better myself, so I'm not going to bother trying" file:

Just doing my part to reach the, up to, three fans in California who actually read my personal blog. Thanks for your time.

Bankruptcy, not bailout, is the right answer.

I could not have said it better myself, so I'm not going to try. Here's a fantastic article concerning the government bailout fiasco that I agree with 110%. Economist Jeffrey Miron says the bailout plan presented to Congress was the wrong solution to the crisis; click here to read why.

Many thanks to Atlanta Pete for the image.

Bluetards, Toothbags: Lend Me Your Ears!

Bluetards and Toothbags: It's The Law!I'm a little tired of people claiming BT-Headset laws are making the roads safer...

These single-take rants are fun, but I would have liked to clean up some of the ideas and maybe add some kitten-filled school bus accident noises. Also, I could have corrected the "New York" assertion. Hands-free laws are PRIMARY there, not secondary enforcement. Oregon, Maryland and a handful of other intelligent states using secondary enforcement can be found here.

Maybe next time I'll bite the bullet and edit in Final Cut. Then I could avoid the inevitable, "in the video he said NY. Whatta tard!" flamebait trollings to come. Oh well, hope you enjoy the whining regardless!
