    Live: Holy Fuck on Channel M

    Holy Fuck is one of those bands I've been a fan of for a while, but had zero desire to watch live for one reason of another. Thanks to this Channel M performance, that has changed. Thers's something about seeing electronic music created live that makes me Japanese-school-girl-giddy.

    They also get plus ten for using oldschool film strips for samples. Hell, plus fifteen! Why not. (+15)

    The two bands I thought of when I first started watching this was Portishead and the aforementioned Trent Reznor. Portishead did a live show for youtube recently and it was awesome. They wouln't be classified as electronic probably but they have a song called 'Machine Gun' that definitely would. If you haven't heard it you should check it out. And NIN cd 'Year Zero' is supposed to take place in the future and it's awesome. But anyways, about this video, I agree with you Kevin, It's cool to be able to see how they make this music live. I'd love to be able to play around with that equipment but I would have no idea what does what and that makes me angry. Also, I know I might not be aloud to dispel points but if I could I would give 10 to the host for how he says "fuck"... "Holy Phook"

    Speaking of relatively unknown, awesome bands, this seems like a better time than ever to suggest that you should go see Deerhoof soon! I have no idea if you've heard of them or if you are a fan at all, but seeing that you are a drummer aficionado, you would probably love watching their drummer, Greg Saunier. I know I do.

    Neat, though the best live electronica I've seen was Matmos on Bjork's Vespertine tour. Neat show. Pretty sure they used a hair clipper at one point. And of course they use things like shuffling a deck of cards and other such interesting sources of sound.
