    New Videos, and How!

I just added two new clips to the media player on the sidebar, and I figured I'd make a post about 'em just in case you wanted to leave a comment.

The first clip is the "Halo Breakup" sketch I wrote a few weeks back. Originally, Luis Hurtado was to play the role of the "Game Fuel" guzzling uber-Halo-fanboy who completely sucks at the game. Sadly, the "Big Hurt" was slammed with website deadlines and had to back out of the shoot, so in stepped Jeremy Hache at the eleventh hour with an incredible performance. Hache always cracks me up, and this shoot was no exception. From the very first "What it do suckas", to the last "wake me when you need me", it was such a struggle holding in the laughter. Sadly, the sketch was edited quite heavily for air; I'm still bummed an exchange about Jeremy's sensitivity level ("In the game, or right now?") didn't make it out of the bay. But such is life, and Mike Shaw (resident sketch guru) did a fantastic job of stitching everything together.

The second clip I added was the "McHammer" teleprompter flub. I'll never forget how conflicted I felt the moment Olivia said that name. The name was in the prompter, sans hyphens, so I felt a little guilty calling her out on it. In fact, you can clearly see that it in the video; at one point I even tried to tell her she didn't say anything wrong. But in hindsight, I'm glad I decided to go there. It was a fantastic, live moment, and I still smile thinking about it. Munn was absolutely cracking me up, and you have to love that she can crack herself up as well.

I hope you enjoy the new clips, and thanks in advance for any feedback; I thoroughly enjoy reading all of your comments. And by the way, if these little blurbs are at all interesting, let me know. I'll whip up a post about the other videos in the player like the Red Ring of Death and The Bet.

    A Nation of Sheep

While I tend to disagree with the majority of the opinions broadcast on FoxNews, this clip featuring Judge Andrew Napolitano is right on the money. This country is certainly headed in an interesting direction and I often wonder if there will be another revolution. If so, here's hoping it's televised, so I can embed clips of said revolt on my blog from the comfort of this plush office chair.

    Not Dead! Just Deciding…

What to do, what to do...

Freeze the site as is, continue tweaking until the OCD is satiated or abandon digital-ship and pay someone to build the site "right". I'm at a loss. The reel is almost finished, and I'm close to tossing some serious irons in the fire outside of my currently established comfort zone, but with this site not feeling "completed" it's hard to really recognize it as a "checkpoint" and move on.

Also, "quotes" are so much "fun". Seriously. I overuse them, not to a "fault" per say, but to a stylistic "point" of "awesomeness". Just sayin'.

UPDATE: Obviously, the site changed. Drastically. The old look didn't make me feel all funny inside. This new layout feels like a unicorn threw up in my mouth. Which is awesome, because unicorns puke rainbows and glitter. So now whenever I think about blogging, it makes me feel like I have a mouth filled with a glittery spectrum of color. And that's how blogging should feel.

    Slowly but Surely

This little blog is coming along! Sorta. I'm still figuring out colors and content bin placement, but I'm pretty happy with the overall layout that's taken shape. I crashed into two major hurdles last night though, and I'm still steaming over one of them.

First off, I fought with the WordTube plugin for hours last night, and failed to emerge victorious. The plugin supports playlists (so I can have a series of videos to choose from), HOWEVER when embeded as a Wordpress Widget (which allows me to place the plugin in a sidebar) that functionality is unavailable. I went through countless lines of PHP trying to force the playlist variable to zero (the setting for "play all videos") but after trolling the forums of the plugin developer I realized it's simply not possible in this version.

Secondly, I had an EPIC FAIL with my TypePad account. I decided to cancel the account (I paid for service on a yearly basis) and it immediately nuked my profile. I'm not surprised (even though they do technically owe me a few more months of the service), but I am absolutely pissed that I forgot to export out all my posts! I lost it all. Entirely my fault, but this means I'll have to do some serious copy and pasting with my MySpace blog to get back some earlier ramblings.

Oh well. Such is life I suppose.

Also, go buy Skate for the Xbox360. Seriously. It's better than Halo 3. That is all.

UPDATE: I've disabled the need to "register" to comment, so if you have any opinions or just want to spam the new blog, please feel free. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the re-design in progress, and if you've got any WordTube workarounds for my sidebar widget issue, I'll bake you a cake!

    Real-Time Wreckage

So, I'm planning on making a metric ton of change to this site, while it is live. So you can watch me screw up, expose database passwords, break the formatting left and right, etc. Should prove to be a fun experiment, or an epic fail.

    I do those best.

    Enjoy the internet mixup!

    Careful: Hot Site!

Never, EVER, tweak a site while it's live. Right? RIGHT?!

Speaking of which, is Kevin Spacey Web 2.0 compliant?
